Creative Wednesday Part 2

A little late, but better late than never!

Today, for Creative Wednesday, I have been working on new vintage purses.

Antique fabric, over printed with french love letters sit amongst swallows carrying banners of love.

I hope you all have had a Creative Wednesday

Vintage Collage

At the moment I'm busy with freelance print design, but I am also busy creating new designs ready for the next Vintage Fair I am standing at.
These are some of the new card designs-vintage collage effect.

Do we like them?
For Creative Wednesday I will show the vintage purses I am working on.

Vintage Snapshots

On Sunday I visited the Treacle Market in Macclesfield for the first time.
Unfortunately, I forgot to take my camera, which is a real shame as there where so many wonderful photos to be taken, next time I promise i will!

I was inspired by all that I saw, especially by a beautiful stall selling vintage french products.

The gentlemen had put vintage photographs into jars which made me think about displaying my collection of vintage postcards in the same way.

I then thought, how wonderful that you can swap the display around as many times as you like.

Even using the reverse of the vintage postcards give a beautiful effect

Happy Monday

Friday suggestion

I have spent the morning having a tidy and sort out of all the fabrics, trims and embelishments here in the studio-feels good when you do this, yes?

I found, amongst other things that I had forgotten about, these 2 lovely little pieces of embroidery- I can't for the life of me remember where or when i bought them!

I thought why not ask for suggestions of what i could use them for rather than framing them.

Do I turn them into pin cushions?
The front of a little sewing case?

Each one is 9cm x 9cm so quite small.
Im open to all other suggestions please lovely readers-, and i will attempt to create what is suggested and post it once finished!

Happy Friday.

Creative Wednesday

I thought that starting today, I would begin a new regular feature here on the blog called
Creative Wednesday.
My usual week is filled with creative tasks, but i thought i would share what creative project i am working on come Wednesday of each week!
Today, I am working on a new cushion design of vintage fabric cut into strips, then sewn together with antique lace.
Finished with embroidery and beading.

I hope to able to show you the final result later.
Do you have any creative plans for Wednesday?

Vintage tins

Today, I found myself tidying the studio and realised that I really do have many, many vintage tins.

Instead of the usual storage boxes from the high street, I love using old vintage tins to store my many items scattered around the studio.

Buys of the fair

Sesame and Lilly braved the cold and stood at The Vintage Village in Stockport yesterday and what a fantastic day we had!

The atmosphere of the market was fabulous, with smiles and laughter all round, plenty of sales and new friends made.

I managed to take a few pictures on my iphone of how the stall looked for all of you who couldn't make it to say hello, and for those who did it was lovely meeting you!

Our best sellers yesterday where the cushions with hand embroidered wording which sold out by lunctime!
More sewing of those this week.

I, of course, could not resist a wander around to spend some cash and as usual found some wonderful items that i intend to use this week for work inspiration so look out for designs inspired by them!

Who else managed to go yesterday and what treats did you find?
